Bisc1

  • At age 18, Bisc1 rolled over the Connecticut border into NYC and woke up to the gritty grind of urban turbulence. Steadily sneaking through the back streets into subway stations where the trains don’t run, he kept his ears to the ground and his eyes on the art. From his Basics EP, to his mixtape, The Stay Up Project and now Turbulence, Bisc1 has consistently captured the full dynamic dichotomy of our chaotic reality. He constructs precise, honest commentary with his narratives, his images, and his collaborations. Digging below the surface, capturing concepts is what Bisc1 does best; explaining why he has become the go-to graphic artist for packaging those concepts, working with such artists as Aesop Rock, The Perceptionists, Blockhead, C-Rayz-Walz, DJ Signify, Vast Aire and Mighty Mi, Murs, RJD2, Mathematics (Wu-Tang), Slow Suicide Stimulus, DJ Ese, El-P, and more. He has once again designed his own album cover, masterfully mixing wild style handwork with his digital perceptions. Hip-hop induced insomnia has driven him to create audio & visual art that appeals to the early birds, the night owls, and all creatures in between. As inspired by live performance as he is by studio work, he has rocked stages from “Bushwick to Bangkok” with the likes of: KRS-One, Jeru the Damaja, Black Sheep, The Beatnuts, Souls of Mischief, R.A. The Rugged man, Mr.Lif, C-Rayz Walz, Dooley-O, True Skool Kings, and Tame One. ?
His poetic deconstruction speaks to life in the balance of our extremes, our failures and our successes, our conflicts and our peace. Bisc1 whispers to mayhem and she sleeps soundly. An artist that sounds so gritty and stays so up is an artist with a reservation in your daily sound track.

Junk Science

  • Junk Science is Baje One on the mic and DJ Snafu on the beats. Simple. These two young gentlemen met in high school in Brooklyn in the mid-nineties (when Baje One stole a handful of tapes from Snafu's backpack, including a cassette containing original beats that were "dope") and started making lots of "not-that-good-but-definitely-interesting" music together on half-days and weekends. Not that much happened between then and 2003-ish. At that point, they moved in together and started working on their debut album, Feeding Einstein, “an intelligent blend of DJ Snafu’s dusty collages and Baje One’s thoughtful commentary.” -Spitkicker.com

Iller Than Theirs

  • Brooklyn-based Iller Than Theirs is a mellow opposition to the commoditization of hip-hop culture that has resulted in fake MC's peddling their own posturing while crazed billionaires buy up and tear down the old neighborhoods. In a world that's growing more convoluted, complex, and corrupt, they've decided to respond with a simple, easygoing honesty of lyricism, free of pretension and thug theatrics. Iller Than Theirs is made up of Tone Tank and Krayo, artists from the Nuclear Family collective. Known as Nuk Fam for short, these New York-based musicians pride themselves on their unique humor and humility. - Hip Hop Press

loer velocity

  • Far from the average knucklehead up on the block, out of New York's Yonkers district, beneath the shade of a single tree stands the cool demeanor of Loer VelocityI.the melodious hush factor!

Gracefully enough, Loer (pronounced Lower) has ripped through NY's underground hip-hop music scene with poetic leisure, adding to his proficiently developed mural. Coming from a pure background of emcee battles, club promotions and graff writing, young Loe found himself at the heart of a growing scene, sharing the stage with, then, up & coming artists such as Sara Jones, Mos Def, mums, Talib Kweli, and Saul Williams at venues like The Nuyorican Poets Café and S.O.Bs since 1996. Throughout, Loe stayed busy in the studio, fine-tuning his recording skills and working with a wide range of artists.
