The Kiss Off

  • "The Kiss-Off was formed in 2006 by guitarist Adam De Rosa, bassist
Nathan Lithgow and keyboardist/ button pusher Oliver Edsforth. This
line-up was later joined by drummer Michael Resnick and singer Sam
Tyndall. After a year of exploration and changes in palate The
Kiss-Off has settled on sound deeply influenced by Eno-era Bowie, Echo
& The Bunnymen and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but continues to expand their
sonic reach and ambition. Tyndall's stark lyrics are counter balanced
by a resonant, often dramatic delivery, which glides on top of
BladeRunner synthesizer and Fripp-esque guitar. The Kiss-Off is
releasing their debut six song EP "Brace" in the Spring of 2008."

Duchess of York

  • Hailing from the capital of the old Confederacy, these four youngsters- three still in highschool, most certainly know their rock n' roll roots. With infectious riffs to explosive vocal performances by seventeen year old and lead singer, Michael York, the foursome drops sonic references that often span from the heaviest Zeppelin riffs in the book, to the fattest Thin Lizzy bass rants, ala Phil Lynott. A taper jeaned family band, comprised of the York brothers, Michael (lead vocals/guitar), older brother, Austin (bass), cousin Constantine Giavos (drums), as well as Jacob Shank (guitar), Duchess of York formed in 2003, while the boys attended an all black middle school in the inner city of Richmond, Virginia, a city storied for its punk and metal gauntlets. Duchess of York adds the breastplate of righteousness in its anachronistic expression of rock, boogie, and soul, transcending and crossing influences from The Strokes to Radiohead, to breathe a much needed breath of fresh air into the future sound of rock n' roll.
