RANA

  • Raised in New Jersey and rising in New York City, RANA is a rock band of its own design. Independently, the band has built its own audience, bridging gaps between several different music scenes & styles. The four band members, Matt Durant (Keyboards & Vocals), Andrew Southern (Bass & Vocals), Scott Metzger (Guitar & Vocals), and Ryan Thornton (Drums) grew up together, playing in bands with each other as far back as middle school. The RANA philosophy dictates that every idea is worth trying once in front of an audience. This single principal has kept the band as interested in the songs as the audience and proved to be a source of nearly unlimited creativity. RANA figures they have over 100 songs they could play at any given concert

As the band began taking its shape, opening for acts as diverse as Ween, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cake, Avril Lavigne & Camper Van Beethoven, it took its own direction from the breadth of its influences. There is as much Talking Heads as Velvet Underground in RANA's sound, as much Bruce Springsteen as Neil Young, and as much of The Band as The Clash. The first two albums, Here in the USA (2002) and What It Is (2005) were released by the band's own label (Bonesaw Records, Inc.) and were supported by two national tours and constant touring of the Northeast. The band is currently working on a third record in New York City.

Leroy Justice

  • Like a roadhouse ghost rattling his chains, Leroy Justice’s debut album, Revolution’s Son, comes to life. Mixing youthful energy with a surprising confidence, the album recalls Lynyrd Skynyrd, MOFRO and Little Feat – all groups that seemed to arrive fully formed, ready to use dead solid songs & heartfelt playing to whip you up something that sticks to your ribs. Leroy Justice has already shared stages with Rich Robinson, Rose Hill Drive, and Marc Ford, among others; and they have attracted the efforts of producer/engineer John Siket (Sonic Youth, Phish, moe.), who, after recording and mixing much of their debut, is now co-producing their new material. Most importantly, Leroy Justice kicks ass live - so, belly up to the bar and let them pour you a shot of what you need.

The Still Out

  • the Still Out is a band formed in New York City by the songwriting/production team of Josh Stoddard and Arjun Agerwala. Both multi-instrumentalists and vocalists, the two started writing and recording together after they realized they shared similar interests in indie/alt rock, british guitar rock, dream pop, and psychedelia.

The resulting album, "Crystallized", reflects the band's eclectic tastes, combining spaced out soundscapes and explosive rock. It also features special appearances by friend's, Adam Franklin (Swervedriver), Claude Coleman Jr. (Ween, Amamadla), Jody Porter (Fountains of Wayne, The Belltower), Chris Egan Jr. (Say Hi To Your Mom, World Without Magic), and June Sanders (The Astrojet, Thunderkatz).

Stoddard and Agerwala have recently filled out the full time band to a 5 piece, adding Matt Sumrow and Nicole Gehweiler (formerly of The Comas) and Michael Jones (formerly of Levy).

A Big Yes...and a small no

  • Frontman Kevin Kendrick founded A Big Yes and a small no in the summer of 2006 with a vibraphone, 5 close friends, and a beautiful velvet jacket. Featuring Kendrick’s former Fat Mama band mates Jonathan Goldberger on guitar, Erik Deutsch ..boards, Joe Russo on drums, Jonti Siman on bass, as well as Moira Meltzer-Cohen on backing vocals, they began playing their brand of hyper-educated, condescending, expressionist avant-pop around their hometown of New York City. In February 2007, A Big Yes headed into the studio to record their much anticipated debut album Jesus That Looks Terrible On You (Through Left Records), scheduled for release May 13th, 2008. Called "the hippest pop band you've ever seen in your life" by music critic Richard Gehr (The Village Voice), as well as "a band that sneaks up and fucking floors you" by Glide.com, the band looks forward to touring the Northeast and South this spring and summer in support of their new release.
