Kill the Alarm

  • Fronted by New Jersey native, Garen Gueyikian, Kill The Alarm (KTA) is a band with deep rock roots. Their debut album, “Fire Away,” is filled with tracks that land under your skin and scratch their way out. The edgy stepchild of Green Day and Matchbox 20, KTA is already being called part of the new wave of rock to come out of Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Kill the Alarm is already causing a stir, debuting at a string of New York City clubs, giving the city’s rock scene a shot in the arm.

Known for his deep, soulful voice, and powerful lyrics, Garen describes his sound as “intense and real.” With this debut album, he focused on bringing the live concert experience into the studio and has recorded tracks that tap the sound he has been seeking since he began songwriting.

Glint

  • Glint is an energetic space and psych-rock ensemble hailing predominately from the Northeast, based in NYC. Before beginning sessions on their latest record, the band, consisting of the core duo, songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jase Blankfort and drummer/percussionist Mateus Tebaldi, gained notoriety with the success of their debut album "Mode To Joy" and arduous touring of the country. Recent highlights include a featured placement on the iTunes homepage, featured story in Billboard Magazine, performing at Webster Hall, headlining the Central Park Bandshell, and being crowned the "best independent act in the northeast" by winning the 2007 Independent Music World Series, hand-picked by Billboard. In Summer of 2008, Glint can be found rocking the mic and using their unique blend of "space rock" to set minds a-spin across the nation in support of their latest studio effort, "Sound in Silence," including residencies in New York City. The record was recorded on a private mountaintop in Oregon with producer Nic Hard (The Bravery, Aberdeen City) and is available now on iTunes. After being intrigued by Glint's "explosive transcendental experience," Modern Art Contemporary Mark Kostabi prepared all album artwork for the highly anticipated "Sound in Silence."

For the critically acclaimed live shows, the band proudly joins forces with Alon Leventon on synthesizers/keys and Dave Johnsen on bass.

Glint: a little bright spot in a world of darkness.

The Stationary Set

  • The Stationary Set was born out of Andrew Lutes' over-production of indie-rock/pop songs for the east lansing outfit: thefarewelldrive. Teaming up with long-time friend and rock-band veteran Josh Hoisington (The Minor Fall, The Giveaway, Four Days), The Stationary Set have put their emotionally taxing indie-rock back on the shelf in exchange for this new blend of light-hearted social commentary coupled with highly contagious, guitar-driven pop melodies. The songs herein represent a turn towards the lighter, more attainable hooks that made up the mid/late nineties mix tapes of Andrew's youth. The diary-esque yet surprisingly optimistic lyrics set in a backdrop of deliciously intelligent arrangements, led by Hoisington, make The Stationary Set a safe bet for anyone with a pension for melody. Goes great with your morning coffee.

Byron Zanos

  • Byron Zanos’ lifelong love of music began in his parents’ living room, listening to his father’s opera collection. He started playing the piano almost as soon as he could reach the keys, but in 1992, the 12-year-old Zanos had a life-altering experience: he bought his very first CD, Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite For Destruction. “It was like a bowl of Lucky Charms after eating oatmeal all my life.” The piano obviously wasn't going to cut it.

Eventually, Zanos’ tastes grew to include Dave Matthews Band for its versatile musicality; Jeff Buckley’s haunting vocals; and Sting’s penchant for constant re-invention and experimentation. Zanos began to develop a voice as a performer and, not long after that, a style as a songwriter.

Matt Lowell

  • Succeeding last summer as headliner of The Camplified Tour *, the largest Camp tour in the country, Matt has reemerged upon the Boston scene with a fresh sound and new band behind him. With his last full-length album selling over 1,500 copies on tour, Matt ran to the top of the label ladder with Universal Nashville thanks to his production team Baldwin Ent. In order to finish school at Berklee College of Music, the two entities parted ways. Since then, Matt’s music has developed into a more radio friendly genre as he has acquired a pop-oriented mindset while maintaining his rock-jazz elemented roots. Recently, Matt has teamed up with 2007 Boston Music Award's 'Local Producer of the Year' Crit Harmon (producer for Martin Sexton), to record his upcoming EP. With a release date set in April, the EP entitled "First Taste" will be the next step in gaining industry interest. Keep your eyes open, as it is only a matter of time until Matt Lowell becomes a household name in this ever-changing industry. With a stage presence that catches audiences right away, his charisma, personality and talent are not hard to notice. "When I pick up my guitar to set down some lyrics, there is always a vision in my head of bringing the music alive. It was hard at first to tell the story and bring the listener along, but it was my goal to show the picture. It started out by small images and snippets of important times in my life that I would begin writing about. I am more of an indirect storyteller than one who paints the complete picture for the listener. I like the listener to put themselves in the lyrics, instead of telling a rigid story. Whether it is of a broken relationship or my paradigm of the world today," says Matt, "today's song writers such as Fiona Apple, Dave Matthews and John Mayer, along with another player or band who is not afraid to push the creative envelope, say it best for me. From one song to the next, I try my best to capture a brand new mood."
