RTX are splitting into Black Bananas!!! The fruit is ripe and the bread will be FRESH.
After three albums under the name RTX, Jennifer Herrema and her bunch decided to flip the script, to kick open the doors of perception a little bit . See,RTX was not Royal Trux, not a metal band,not a 70's bar band and not a toxic substance; RTX was something, all of those things and none of them and way more, including Black Bananas bubbling in a witchy cauldron of their own herbaceousbrew. The tit le of a song on their RaTX album detailed a bit of the recipe, taking elements often tossed aside or thrown all the way out and combining them into something new and worthwhile...a new strain of the almighty green - to feed and elevate the hungry ones.

Black Bananas is set for the next all-inclusive rock and roll crusade, the one that includes even and especially all the shit you don't like, woven into all the shit you can't live without. This has been the name of Jennifer's game from day one; she owns the blueprints and if you don't know by now, don't even bother to Google it, cuz understanding is an investment not an action. Jennifer Herrema is not schizophrenic nor does she don many hats. She is simply a singer and simultaneously, a pioneer of comprehensive non-exclusive opposition rock, and Black Bananas is the latest addition to the oeuvre.
Brian Mckinley, Kurt Midness, Jaimo Welch , and Nadav Eisenman have been ripping and running with Jennifer since 2002, when one by one, they gathered serendipitously, borne by curiosity and the courage to be part of something new. Each passing RTX record saw them wrapped ever tighter in the burgeoning tongue of their own creation. Now, uttering their twisted slang fluently as a unified dialect, they emerge as Black Bananas.
If you wanna hedge (-fund) your bets its best to get out in front of this new natio nal currency they are creating with Black Bananas. These are the notes of the future; with Jennifer at the helm their worth will grow exponentially. Invest!
Black Bananas first album Rad Times Xpress IV runs the gamut from gnarly odes to reality TV in songs like "My House" to future electric metallic GoGo sounds all conceived with scraps of influence from Jennifer's childhood passions zig-zagged with other currents out there, creating a sound that will take you to a specific place that only Black Bananas know how to find.
Most of all, Black Bananas is the new band in town - and they're fucking righteous.

Hailing from New Jersey by way of Memphis, Bosco's sound references the sounds of Sun Studios-era recordings, updating the lo-fi guitar twang with the use of an MPC drum machine and vintage synthesizer emulators to create a wall of distorted dance/grunge, with other apparent influences ranging from southern rap to church hymns and dancehall. This seemingly impossible alchemy was recently manifested on wax when Diplo's Mad Decent released a stellar pair of Bosco Delrey 7-inches earlier this year, "Wild One/Evil Lives" and "Space Junky/My My Racecar," both of which are also available digitally.

Bosco has just finished recording his debut album, "Everybody Wah," which is slated for release on Mad Decent / Downtown Music in early 2011. He spent the past summer in Memphis, TN recording with Doug Easley at his acclaimed studio whose alumni include the White Stripes, Sonic Youth, Pavement, Wilco, and Cat Power. Also, the legendary Beastie Boys have recently taken a shine to young Bosco with both Mike D and Ad Rock pledging remix work due later this month.

In person, Bosco performs abstract narratives that exist somewhere between electro-psychedelia and distorted grunge-hall. Audiences in Philadelphia, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles witnessed this sonic amalgam first-hand this summer as Bosco played the Mad Decent Block Party series. With so many conceptual hybrids existing in the same aural and geographic space, a Bosco Delrey show is steeped in possibility, the feeling that anything can happen.

This is some writing that this girl Maud did about about us on her blog. I don't know this girl, if I did she would ... (more) know how actually messy my apartment is or how truly, beautifully refined my taste in movies is. I'm also using this, as I'm wont to do, without her permission, but mostly because her blog doesn't offer any way of getting in touch with her. Without further ado: Sweaty boys playing sloppy drunk jammy music is the reason why I like dudes, and Wild Yaks do it oh so well. I want to be their friends because I bet they have a really dirty apartment and watch really good movies. I want to listen to their music because it's masculine and not at all pretentious and they're so into it and their glasses slide off their noses and their shorts are too short.

The drummer looks like a beardier Williamsburgier Iggy Pop. They sing songs about girls and love and tomahawks and pearls like the world and beg for a new guitar when they bust their own. They have a saxophone player with really sticky-uppy hair. You could totally kick ass and run around and drive your car to their songs. Their myspace url is "boyhoodforever" which makes me think they may be aware of how dudely they are but it makes me like them more. They also played this slower song that actually DID remind me of Jonathan Richman, specifically the part in "A Plea For Tenderness" that goes "I know how beautiful death is (duh duh duh duh duh)/ I know why you hate life..." and so on. They're kind of like a screamier Modern Lovers. Or maybe they're just what The Modern Lovers would be like if they weren't straight edge. If they were real real real drunk.
