Amy Shark - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Amy Shark
Gold Coast born and bred, the musically contemplative and soulfully brooding Amy Shark can best be described as the creatively complex girl next door. Her single "Adore" was added to triple j almost immediately after release, with the station singing its praises and adding the track to their high rotation and she featured prominently during October as the triple j Unearthed Artist of the Week.

Coming in at #2 on triple j's Hottest 100, Amy Shark's "Adore" has also been short-listed for the Top 20 APRA Song Of The Year and has continued to propel her to the centre stage. The track has since surpassed 4 million plus streams and hasn't left the streaming and Shazam charts since release, having most recently entered the ARIA Top 10 singles chart along with its recent accreditation of Gold Sales.

Produced by M-Phazes and Cam Bluff, a match made in pop-music heaven, the video clip for the single was shot and directed by Amy herself. "Every photo is at a place that means something to me from my past and my childhood," she explains. "Every shot is taken on the Gold Coast. So the video was shot in my old high school hall (Southport High) and all the outdoor takes are around my old primary school."

Amy's music is proving to have struck a chord with many. "Adore" has most recently been shortlisted in the Top 20 for APRAs Song Of The Year. With a sold-out national tour under her belt and festival spots for Groovin The Moo, A Weekend In The Gardens and The Hills Are Alive, Amy Shark is fast becoming a sought-out artist.

"I adore this song."

-Zan Rowe, triple j

-Nick Findlay, triple j

"The raw quaintness jumped out to me...Shark has nailed down a unique sound."

Surf Rock is Dead - (Set time: 9:15 PM)
Surf Rock is Dead
Hailing from Chicago and Melbourne, Australia, Kevin Pariso and Joel Witenberg--together Surf Rock is Dead--embody the beachiness of their namesake's genre through a new wave filter.

Their intercontinental exploration has led to all six highly praised releases charting in top 25 on tastemaker favorite Hype Machine, love from Spotify on its venerable "Fresh Finds", "undercurrents", "Lo-Fi Sounds", and "Modern Psychadelia" playlists, Apple featuring them as New Music, selection as a Kitsuné Hot Tracks compilation, the honor of being considered "Music That Matters" by KEXP, and extended rotation in the College Music Journal (CMJ)'s Top 200--including 2 weeks inside the Top 20. And they've done it all completely independently.

Four of those six tracks were included on their recently released SRiD EP: “Anymore,” which "at its core...is modern surf music, but" with "nothing frothy about it" (Under the Radar); “Zen A,” a song as swelled out as the waves that open the track--"a strange contradiction that leaves you pressing play on the track over and over again" (NYLON); “Late Risers,” a dreamy haze ribboned by its Cure-inspired bass that is "a testament to the power of the human imagination--and their bleached grooves—that...can conjure a baking beach and some existential ennui in the middle of a frigid winter" (NOISEY); and "Never be the Same," which yields "softly hued piece of cute-as-hell indie pop with some serious surf vibes...a heavenly confection" (CLASH Magazine).

Most recently, Billboard described their latest single "In Between" (off their upcoming EP) as "modern surf music that makes you feel the need for the track on repeat".

And like their recordings do, and Time Out New York noticed when they named Surf Rock is Dead as one of the Best Acts of CMJ 2015 two years ago and OhMyRockness named the band one of its hardest working bands for two years in a row, the duo's captivating live show crashes over you in the best way possible.
