Sir Kn8 - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
Sir Kn8
Emcee / producer SIR KN8 makes poetically adventurous, philosophical hip-hop. His lyricism draws on his intellectual commitments in philosophy, history and science, and his Clark-Kent-alter-ego as an adjunct lecturer at Hunter College. He also records, shares stages and goes busking on the subways with rapper / comic performance artist Hila the Killa in the duo Killin H8.
Magna Carda - (Set time: 8:30 PM)
Magna Carda
"From their humble beginnings on a college campus four years ago, Magna Carda has steadily risen to the top of the Texas music scene as a premiere hip hop act. Described by Mashable as “Austin’s answer to The Roots,” Magna Carda is led by the city’s most dynamic MC-producer duo — Megz Kelli and Dougie Do — whose work pairs like a fine wine with the meat-and-potatoes backbone of the group’s signature live instrumentation. The five piece boasts a genre-defying blend of rap-meets-jazz-meets-R&B-meets-electronic."
Ava Raiin - (Set time: 7:30 PM)
Ava Raiin
Ava Raiin is a New York based Ethereal R&B singer, songwriter and performer. Ava was born Michelle Renee in Minneapolis with her twin sister and raised between Minnesota with mom and Texas with dad. After an unconventional childhood and undergraduate studies at the University of Texas, Ava moved to NYC and made her rounds in the artist circuit singing cover songs at open mic nights. A series of fateful meetings and introductions led to touring gigs as a background singer and featured vocalist with a range of artists across the spectrum. Over the last few years Ava has shared the stage and collaborated with Melissa Etheridge, Blood Orange / Dev Hynes, Carly Rae Jepsen, Solange Knowles, Chrisette Michele and others. Her newly released music video for “Eagle Eye” premiered on Afropunk and was selected as Vimeo Staff Pick. Ava is currently working on new music and touring with Blood Orange singing backing vocals.
Brother Valiant - (Set time: 6:30 PM)
Brother Valiant
Formed in early 2013, Brother Valiant began as a couple of friends sharing their musical ideas inside a basement in suburban New Jersey. It didn't take long for the project to evolve into an eclectic 7-piece ensemble, forging an identity all their own–a patchwork of sounds described by some as "Alternative Jazz-Folk" and "Americana Ska." Amongst their rambunctious horn section and satirical lyricism, with driving rhythms, jangly guitars, and melodic banjo riffs, Brother Valiant creates an atmosphere that both celebrates and distorts the most exciting aspects of music.

More recently, the band has been gearing up to tour the East Coast in promotion of their first full-length album, Thus, He Was, Brother Valiant. The album, independently produced by the band, was recorded partially at "The Den" at Smacktone Studios in Woodland Park, NJ and in their modest home studios. The album can be listened to on the band's personal website, iTunes and Spotify.
