Turkuaz - (Set time: 11:30 PM)
Turkuaz is a 10-piece full-frontal funk assault on the senses.
Influences range from the Talking Heads to James Brown - P-funk to
Jamiroquai - creating a show which is an eclectic mix of funk
influences and sounds from all over the board. The end result is a
good time to say the very least. The goal is to take the emphasis away
from heady, jazzy solos over quasi-funky riffs, and to put it back on
groove, fun, and getting the room moving and having a night they will
never forget. Turkuaz is certainly more than your average funky
instrumental jam band, bringing catchy vocal hooks and dirty funk
grooves to the table. When the group takes their party to the stage it
certainly is a spectacle to be remembered. Bring your diapers, kids.

Watermelon is a Funk Rock band stationed in New York City. The band's unique sound is formed from the dynamic interplay of two singers, guitar, keys, and a driving rhythm section, producing a sound that has been called raucous rock 'n' roll with a punch of funk and undertones of hip hop. While the band's spirit can be traced to the revelry and comradery of Sly and the Family Stone, the band does not shy away from such diverse influences as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Funkadelic, and Talking Heads. Seeking to break down all barriers with the audience, Watermelon lives for the live experience.
