Dinner and a Suit - (Set time: 10:30 PM)
Dinner and a Suit
In a music world where genre lines are increasingly blurred, DINNER AND A SUIT has emerged with a sonic meld that resonates with familiarity and captivates with distinction.

Formed in New Jersey by cousins Jonathan Capeci, Joey Beretta and Anthony Genca, the three looked to their lineage for a musical namesake.

During the Great Depression, the trio’s great grandmother was a seamstress by day and community humanitarian by night, welcoming the less fortunate into her home to feed home-cooked meals and then send off with newly repaired suits and clothing.

As a combined unit, the efforts of Capeci, Beretta and Genca have forged a path that reflects their music itself: putting the right pieces in the right places at all the right times.

Since their formation in 2009, Dinner And A Suit quickly captured attention with a captivating blend of ethereal rock and distinguished pop - leading to critical acclaim, a swelling dedication of global fans, and coveted live dates that have circled the band throughout the US.

The spiraling success fueled Dinner And A Suit to transplant to Nashville in late 2010, where they began work on what would become Since Our Departure - their brand new full-length album.

“We left the comforts of home to pursue this dream,” explains Capeci. “And that definitely comes through on this record.”

To record Since Our Departure, the band split their time between Glow in the Dark Studios in Atlanta with producer Matt Goldman (Anberlin, Underoath), then with Tyler Orr (As Cities Burn, Copeland) at First Street Studios in Cleveland TN.

The resulting work is a range of bold anthems, layered with soaring melodies that are riveting with honesty. Throughout the album’s ten towering tracks, Capeci’s lush timbre weaves universal themes of forgiveness and hope, love and loss, and discovering a place in the world.

“It just poured out of us,” Genca adds. “There’s a lot of passion and energy on this record. It’s an experience that we’re sharing with the listeners in a very real way.”
The Monks of Mellonwah - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
The Monks of Mellonwah
Winner of the award for Best Indie Rock Band at the Artists In Music Awards in Los Angeles and nominated for 3 awards at the LA Music Awards including Best International Act, the Monks of Mellonwah are entering some very exciting times.

The Monks of Mellonwah are a four-piece Alternative Rock band based in Sydney. Strongly influenced by artists including Led Zeppelin, Muse, Pink Floyd and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Monks display a masterful yet unique blend of intense space, driving riffs and sharp metaphors, really honing in on those epic moments each listener longs to hear.

Since the release of their first EP, Stars Are Out, the Monks have been busy developing an electrifying live act and have supported bands such ‘You Am I ‘ alongside headlining at a wide range of well-respected Australian venues including The Oxford Art Factory, The Factory Theatre and The Metro Theatre. Through constant gigging and touring, the band has been building an ever expanding and loyal fan base who have played a vital part in helping to spread the Monks’ music to international shores. This has also enabled the band to create and launch MELLONAID* a charitable concert set up to support the efforts of the international charity War Child.

In June 2012, the Monks of Mellonwah released their second EP, Neurogenesis along with their single ‘Neverending Spirit’ and has since had an overwhelming response. In addition to international and national radio play including FM and College Radio in the USA, UK and Canada, the Monks’ EP - Neurogenesis has been licensed to 11 US TV Production companies including Discovery Channel, Bunim Murray, MTV Networks and FOX Sports for use in their shows. This has led to the Monks song ‘Neverending Spirit’ to feature in MTV’s show ‘The Real World’ St Thomas EP9.

The video to ‘Neverending Spirit’ has received 31 high profile adds since its released in the US including MTV Networks and Video hits and the College Music Journal (CMJ) featured ‘Neverending Spirit’ on their MixTape for May along with a feature of the band in their magazine.

With their debut album in production, the Monks are continuing to build their audience by touring domestically in Australia as well as making preparations to tour the USA in November/December 2012 and again in March 2013 to support their album release.

“They’re expert players that favor full-sized, in your face production (remembering the post-Nirvana’90s), Will Maher sings in weighty syllables like the previously unknown progeny of Chris Cornell and Scott Weiland. You want epic? This is commercial alternative rock taken to its thundering ends.” BIG TAKEOVER MAGAZINE (USA)
* MELLONAID was launched in 2011 and raised over $12000 in its first concert. The Monks intend to grow this event along with the bands success and aim to stage MELLONAID annually.
