Mal Blum writes tongue-in-cheek songs often filled with feelings, travel stories and/or anthropomorphic metaphors. Her music is best described as containing elements from folk, punk, and anti-folk genres. Reviewers say: "[songs] so sincere that you want to make her tell you all the stories behind them" - The Ruckus Blog, and "full of humor and sweetness [...]here to make you appreciate the little things more" -Deli Magazine
Mal Blum is currently touring nationally in support of her 3rd full length, "Every Time You Go Somewhere" and will be releasing a new album in 2013.
"Mal Blum's arrival on the indie scene gives us all hope for the future of smart music." -- Melissa Ferrick
"The thing about Mal’s songs is that they will rip your heart out of your fucking chest but also will make you laugh at the same time." - Chris Gethard
