The Liza Colby Sound - (Set time: 8:30 PM)
The Liza Colby Sound
The Lower East Side of NYC is where The Liza Colby Sound are from. It's where they came together in late 2009. Liza was looking to put a band together and she was looking for tough players. She had done time singing hooks on various rap tracks, but
she really wanted was a band. That special bond, chemistry that only comes from that. She knew live, very few could touch her. She found Alec Morton and the Roth brothers (Adam & Charly), three guys who had been around and played with them all vibe.
Between the three of them, they had played with Ozzy, The Del Fuegos, Blessed Union of Souls, Raging Slab, Jim Carroll to name a few. Liza needed a band that could stand next to her and match her mega watt voice. The Chemistry was immediate. Liza's first meeting with Adam produced two songs, and
the next gathering included both Alec & Charly as well. They knew that special bond was formed once they played together.
The music is a combination of influences from the early 70s rock soul, and the some British Invasion on top, showcasing a gritty, garage, sexy sound. LCS is a sweet and
hard combination; The Small Faces meets Curtis Mayfield, The Stones with a twist of Sly, Iggy Pop meets Tina Turner.
As one blogger said it, "The Liza Colby Sound is the bastard child of Led Zepplin meets Tina Turner." The Liza Colby Sound is currently touring in support of their new sophomore release
EP "LIVE". It will be available on iTunes, Amazon MP3 and most digital stores on Feb. 21, 2013. LCS loves to play live and this is a band that should be on your must see list. Their infectious live sound is undeniable and energy intoxicating.
The Piggies - (Set time: 7:30 PM)
The Piggies
The Piggies are a local group of some renown, featuring Andy Maltz of Lil' Killers sort-of-fame and Matt Fiveash (who's also been DJ'ing r'n'b 45 gigs around town). This group definitely has a bit of classic Stones mid-tempo swagger about them. They SOUND classic, let's put it that way.
