Julie Feeney
Julie Feeney
Julie Feeney's sell-out shows on both sides of the Atlantic have received rave reviews whether solo, with ensemble, with choirs or with full orchestra and she composes, arranges and orchestrates all of her own music. Her 3 award-winning-albums have been widely critically acclaimed internationally, receiving numerous awards and she has created a whole host of stunning music videos to accompany them. Her opera ‘BIRD’ goes into full production in 2016. Sharp witted, unpretentious and fiercely passionate, Julie Feeney is a genuine artist and a hugely enjoyable performer. She performs at the Craic Festival in the Mercury Lounge on March 7th 2015 ahead of 14 Spring shows in Amsterdam and Dublin.

n her live shows she combines her "mesmerizing stage presence and eccentric pop genius" (Hot Press) with her unquestionably original sound; and her innovative, avant-garde approach, while rooted in classical music, straddles both the pop and theatrical worlds. For her recent sell-out 10 show run in New York City, the New York Times said of Julie, "...intricate, articulate...draws on sources across centuries...Ms. Feeney's songs don't shout. They tease, ponder, reminisce, philosophize and invent parables, and she sings them in a plush, changeable mezzo-soprano that usually holds a kindly twinkle". The New York Times concluded, "...a brainy adventurous songwriter lives within the flamboyant theatricality...with songs that set character studies and philosophical musings in elaborate musical confections, often with long, internally rhymed lines... Theatrical on the shell, intricate at the core". Sharp witted, unpretentious and fiercely passionate, Julie Feeney is a genuine artist and a hugely enjoyable performer.
Mark Geary
Mark Geary
Mark emigrated to New York City at the age of nineteen. He found himself in the middle of a thriving music scene, centered around the East Village and the legendary Sin-é Cafe. The creative atmosphere was exactly what Mark needed to jump-start his career as a musician.

Supporting himself by working as a bartender, Mark devoted his free time to honing his songwriting skills, cutting his teeth playing open-mics around the city. Drawing from inspirations such as The Beatles, Nick Drake, Radiohead and Van Morrison, Mark garnered respect and attention from both audiences and fellow artists. He was soon featured on bills with the likes of Jeff Buckley, Joe Strummer, and Elvis Costello.

Mark’s album 33 1/3 Grand Street, released in 2002, was recorded with a talented group of musicians and an eclectic selection of instruments that grabbed the attention of new fans in the U.S. and abroad. Mark’s next album, Ghosts, brought him critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic and was voted 2005′s Album of the Year by the Irish Voice. 2008′s Opium continued the trend of showcasing Mark’s considerable talents.

In 2009, Mark’s recording, Live, Love, Lost It, NYC, took him back to his New York roots and features songs from all three studio albums recorded live throughout NYC.

Mark has composed the score to several films; 2005’s Loggerheads, 2006’s Steel City, and 2010′s Sons of Perdition. He recently completed work on the score for an unreleased Irish film. His songs have been featured on various television shows including One Tree Hill and Bones.

Mark recently completed his 5th studio album titled songs about love, songs about leaving. It was recorded in New York City and features guests including Glen Hansard and Jenna Nichols and will be released in Ireland on 18 May with an Irish tour to follow. Released in the US earlier this year, the album is available on digital release at Bandcamp or iTunes and in CD format at sonaBLAST! Records.
Dublin-based DELORENTOS are currently being hailed as one of Ireland’s finest and most imaginative bands.

Suffice it to say the band’s self-released third album (and third consecutive Top 20 charting album in Ireland), Little Sparks (on their own Delorecords label) has been hailed as their best music to date. It is packed with a beautiful balance of gutsy, melodic guitar songs riddled with harmonies, pure pop moments, and more reflective, building soundscapes.

The Irish media greeted its release with a rake of 4 and 5 star reviews:
“The sound of a band who have found their musical and lyrical groove.” Irish Times
“One of the finest Irish releases of recent times!” www.entertainment.ie
“Uniformly fabulous!” www.state.ie
“Last November’s EP hinted that Delorentos had some new tricks up their sleeve, but it didn’t fully prepare the listener for the quality and consistency of this hugely assured album.!” Irish Independent

On the release of Little Sparks Delorentos set up a series of one-day pop-up shops in disused stores around Ireland to promote the record and meet and play acoustically to fans and newcomers alike. And this on top of having self-produced a full-colour A4 magazine (themed around their favourite creative people in the arts in Ireland) to package the 4-track EP that preceded the album.

Meanwhile the band’s live shows in 2012 (both electric and acoustic) have seen them thrill crowds in Ireland, Spain and Germany with headline shows and festival appearances alike (including appearances at Electric Picnic (Ireland), Benecassim (Spain), The Reeperbahn Festival (Germany) SOS 4.8 (Spain), Santander (Spain), San Sebastian (Spain…..). And having learned a whole set of new instruments so that they could perform fully-fledged acoustic sets the band have also continued to display the gentler, more reflective side of their musical nature with acoustic tours and one-off shows in churches and theatres wherever and whenever the opportunity arises.

The band have just been shortlisted for the Meteor Choice Music Prize Irish Album of the Year for their Little Sparks album and for the Meteor Choice Music Prize Irish Song of the Year for the single “Care For”.
