AV - (Set time: 10:30 PM)
AV is an alternative rock group from New York City started in 2012. They'll be headlining Mercury on February 12th after doing a live and video-streamed performance and interview earlier in the day on Soundcheck with John Schaeffer on WNYC 91.3FM, from 2-3pm. Catch them in the studio before you hit the show by going to http://soundcheck.wnyc.org/

This band creates haunting melodies, powered by QOTSA and BRMC guitar tones, Black Keys back beats, and Portishead imagery. It is dark, churning, muscular music with an intelligent sound. This quartet is playing for the future of New York City rock, something audiences are making noise for. A lot of noise.
The quartet features music scene rebels from the Lower East Side. AV has been charging through shows at venues like, Joe's Pub, Rockwood Music Hall, and an a Tuesday night residency at the Williamsburg favorite, Spike Hill where the band formed and honed their sound.

They've just been invited to record a debut full-length after demoing four songs live with producer/engineer team Marc Alan Goodman and Daniel Schlett (Friends, Oberhofer, Here We Go Magic) at the new Strange Weather Studios in Brooklyn, for release in the summer of 2013.
Strip Darling - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
Strip Darling
"Strip Darling, an atmospheric local indie-pop outfit fronted by the angelic-voiced keyboardist Jacque Ryal. It's an impressively diverse set, encompassing torchy brooders and sultry upbeat jams." - Time Out New York

"Strip Darling is 5 piece New York City-based band led by keyboardist Jacque Ryal. Introspective, angry, and ultimately redemptive, Mend is a moody, atmospheric song cycle that is very much on par with artists such as Tori Amos, Portishead and Florence & The Machine." - The Interrobang - The Filtered Excellence
