Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds - (Set time: 10:30 PM)
Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds
Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds are proud to bring you the brand new video for 'Conjure Man', from the limited-edition 7-inch single, out now! 'Conjure Man', is a swampy new original, while the B-side is a deranged cover of an old Seeds tune, 'Lose Your Mind' . Neither track will be featured on the band’s upcoming album, 'Haunted Head', to be released by In The Red Records next month.

Legendary guitar stylist Kid Congo Powers (The Gun Club, The Cramps, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds) and long time cohorts, bassist Kiki Solis (Knife In The Water), drummer Ron Miller (Up The Academy), and guitarist Jesse Roberts (Sandrider, The Ruby Doe) are set to release a brand new album, 'Haunted Head', on May 7th (their third album for In The Red)! Jesse engineered and Ron mixed the album, at the now well-known Harveyville Project High School in Kansas. Waking from a nap in the swamps of outer space, Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds ride a geisterbahn into the hypnagogic, a place between sleep and consciousness also known as the “Haunted Head”.
VietNam - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
VietNam marks their long-awaited return with a new full-length album, an A.merican D.ream, to be released on Mexican Summer Feb 26th, 2013 and first single "Kitchen Kongas” out December 11th, 2012. Michael Gerner, the creative force behind VietNam, is back for the first time in five years with a new six-piece lineup laying down their renowned signature cocktail of apocalyptic street blues.

After taking a long break to explore his interest in ambient analog synth soundscapes on the West Coast (scoring films and recording with his project D.A.), Gerner has now made a bold comeback to both New York City and rock and roll with his best record to date - adding a new dimension to the instrumentation with a moog player and a violinist. aAD is a cinematic dark concrete ride that revs through demons and detours with greasy grace.
Throughout the 2000's, vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Gerner and his revolving lineups spent years tirelessly burning up America's moonlit highways and releasing memorable records that include the critically-acclaimed self-titled debut LP on Kemado Records in 2007, three prior EP's on The Social Registry, and their debut, The Concrete’s Always Grayer on the Other Side of the Street, on Vice Records in 2003. When the work, hopes, and dreams finally culminated in a crescendo of across-the-board success, Michael Gerner and VietNam disappeared without a trace…until now.
We here at Mexican Summer, are truly grateful for the reunion of an inspirational artist and original band, especially with being able to share one of VietNam's most powerful singles, this month.
Ancient Sky - (Set time: 8:30 PM)

Over the past couple years, ancient sky has toured the states and europe as well as recorded one lp and several other smaller releases. largely influenced by classic psyche and indie rock, the band visits bizarre and far-out worlds with sounds and structures that walk the line between harsh and subtle, making for an interesting mix of heavy, hypnotic rock with plenty of hooks and americana influences. this spring ancient sky will be recording there second full length at kutch 1 studios in greenpoint, brooklyn. future live performances will feature this new material. check em' out!
Juniper Rising - (Set time: 7:30 PM)
Juniper Rising
Based in Brooklyn, Juniper Rising is a western psych rock band with early country inspired vocals and moody lap steel guitar. In one short but busy year together, they have released an EP cassette on California label Burger Records, a 7" on sweet lil NC label 307 Knox, and lots of and local venues and USA tours.

"With their blend of alt-country and surf, Juniper Rising put a radical spin on music of the past while remaining in the present. The band cites early country and western music as an influence, but you’ll find a fair share of Spaghetti Western elements in there as well…" - The Deli Magazine
