Hockey are individually from all over the United States, via band stints in Los Angeles, Spokane and Portland – To quote a line from I Wanna Be Black – all the band’s witty, biting lyrics are written by Ben – “everyone’s making dance music now true, but we started in 2002”.

‘When we started making music’ says Ben, ‘we wanted to make music that people could have fun to at the parties we played.’

‘We wanted to make dance music that was infectious,’ says Jerm. ‘Almost like: this is a band but it might as well be a DJ.’

‘We didn’t want to just get up and do our thing,’ says Ben.

‘We want people to react. That was our deal.’
Sigmund Droid
official website
myspace
Sigmund Droid has a combination of courage and chops to create meaningful sounds and situations all the time, every time they perform. When they are in the same country, Pablo and Solomon meet weekly to rehearse their craft. Composed strictly of two instruments (drums by Pablo and bass by Solomon), the mysterious vocal influences of Solomon’s peculiar interpretation of his role in society, Sigmund Droid packs a serious punch of aggressive power punk laced with illusive and subtle electro new wave nuances.

Based in Manhattan’s lower east side, the duo pumps whatever creative energy that the surrounding cruel Gotham doesn’t suckle from their weary souls into their work, be it in their music, their website, their short films, or interlaced in the variety of awkward activities in which they constantly find the time to participate. Come have a listen and get to know Sigmund Droid. They have it in for you and your mind.
Atomic Tom
myspace
Listening to some of Atomic Tom’s veteran tracks like “Take Me Out” and “You Always Get What You Want” have orchestral sized sound with a deep pop rock footing. But early listenings to songs from their upcoming debut album like “We Were Never Meant to Be” and “The Moment” have a level of lyrical and musical depth that suggest real growth from the band and offer the listener a new reason to listen again and again. The awareness of audience in Atomic Tom’s new sound is fitting for a band that has taken so comfortably to the demands of touring. Though they call New York City home, Atomic Tom consider themselves a traveling act.

For now, the future of Atomic Tom looks and sounds exceedingly promising. With songs already making their way on to shows like “The Hills” and their new album garnering strong buzz through out the industry, it would be easy to understand if Atomic Tom went Hollywood on us. Thankfully, AT is that rare glimpse of honest talent in a musical world overrun with too many ‘somebodies.’ “We know who we are,” explains White, “and because of that, our sound may change as we grow as a band, but we’ll always inherently be the same people. Four guys, four instruments, and one evolving sound.”

Listen to the evolution of Atomic Tom when their new album arrives early 2010.
Claymation Velociraptor
myspace
"A year ago, Claymation Velociraptor was known only to patrons of forests and shrubs. Today there isn't an American who doesn't know their name, and their fame has spread quickly around the world.

Said one American visitor to England: "Only a hermit could be unaware of Claymation Velociraptor, and he'd have to be beyond range of television, newspapers, radio, records, and rioting fans." Said another, "They're the biggest hottest property in the history of show business"

The twosome - Huckleberry Hound and Mick Jagger - write, play, and sing a powerhouse music filled with zest and uninhibited good humor that make listening a sensation-filled joy. It's not rhythm and blues, it's not exactly rock and roll, it is their own special sound, or, as John Lennon put it, "Their music is just - well, their music."

Whatever it is, Claymation Velociraptor's robust roaring sound has stimulated a reaction the world itself describes as "RAPTORMANIA."
