A five piece, NYC band whose new self-titled CD is now available on iTunes/Amazon and CDBaby.com, features an impressive catalog of dynamic, atmospheric songs often reminiscent of vintage English ‘70s rock, but with a modern twist all their own. Formed in 2007, Emperor City Motorcade consists of lead singer Alex Curran, guitarist Jonathan Pointer, keyboardist Vincent Capolupo, bassist Tom Guinan and drummer John Melissinos. Recent shows include Bowery Ballroom, The Gramercy Theatre and The Studio at Webster Hall. Lots more to come this year, including radio appearances, an east coast tour, new recordings and a spectacular video “Ordinary Day” directed by Rennio Maifredi. With captivating live performances featuring a wide range of musical textures, stunning instrumentals and soulful lyrics, Emperor City Motorcade is truly a band on the rise. Eighties to the point of excess, Unisex Salon is everything you love to love about the “Me Decade”: shameless, upbeat and heavy on the synths. Garishly tattooed, omnisexual lead singer Kenyon Phillips brings to mind a modern Bryan Ferry, mincing, growling and crooning his way through danceable New Wave soundscapes crafted by keyboard player Brian Gumbel, bass player Jansen Cinco (Lukas Haas, Domino Kirke, Charles Tolliver) and former Fun Lovin’ Criminals drummer Stephen Borgovini. Backup singer Autumn Ready Potter rounds out the sound with disarmingly pretty harmonies that, like The Osmonds, are a little bit country and a little bit rock n’ roll. The band’s Bacchanalian live shows continue to set them apart from other New York pop acts, and have even resulted in the placement of Unisex Salon songs in episodes of “Eleventh Hour” (CBS), “The Mighty B!” (Nickelodeon) and “Teen Cribs” (MTV).

Jersey Girl Andriana Santiago is a purple-haired punk princess who makes great pop songs and great conversation. She loves Janet and Janis and MJ and Madge, and lives for Prince, David Bowie, Tom Petty, the Beatles, and GNR.

Andriana Designs popped out fully formed in the 80’s when Andriana was born in polka dots, ponytails, and the blowout of heaven. High school prom owns? Did them. Edgy Manhattan fashion pieces? Yeah. Indian Fabric? Dont have to ask, sweetheart.

She’s guest hosted for FUSE and left memories in her wake on both coasts, and her high-octane personality shines through on Andriana TV, her show that spotlights an up-and-coming artist in every new episode. She films, edits, and costars in each one, to great effect.
