"Spontaneously combusting in summer '06 under the careless scientific supervision of a group of Wesleyan University Alum (the nonsensical institution that housed Santogold, MGMT, and Dar Williams), the band's sound has been born and born again through daily revivals of its earthly ingredients...
The result, like a ripe grapefruit, is that just-right combination of unlikely elements: tart funk, acidic groove, and nectar of ancient lullaby."

Members of mamarazzi have toured and/or performed with Questlove, Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis, Roy Hargrove, Vieux Farka Toure, Toumani Diabate, Wyclef Gordon, and many other luminary artists.
In April of 2009, after a few nights of loose discussion and music appreciation, The Bill Murray Experience (BME) formed. One afternoon, long-standing musicians: Jay Sanford, Horatio Baltz, Hubby Jenkins, and Jessy Carolina unpacked their instruments in Jay's living room and started the process of, "Let's do this song, I like this song..." Within the hour there was a knock at the door and a head poking through the hall, it was the super. He came in asking, "Is that you singing? Are you playing? You sound very good..." From then on, the BME figured they weren't so bad and agreed to keep on with the tinkering.
So they hit the streets, beginning at Union Square since Washington Square had yet to fully re-open. With a handful of tunes the busking commenced, and from the last cold winds of winter to the nice cool breezes of summer, The BME learned more songs, did a few gigs, and above all were having a blast. In June they recorded at Studio Horatio and completed their first CD which includes songs like "St. Louis Blues", "Everybody Loves My Baby", and "Crazy". A second CD is soon on the way.
Wallowing in absurdity, sincerity, and fortuity, you'll most likely find The BME at Washington Square on sunny afternoons in a shady corner spot if they're lucky.
