Since the tender age of 2.5 Ike has been singing hits of the present, past, and future. He was a big hit around the family party circuit singing "La Bamba" each and every time, over and over, and wouldn't stop until the burgers were done and the deviled eggs came out. Mike has been drumming really for about 3 weeks now and loves it. Growing up though, Mike was one of the best cover drummers when it came down to "We Will Rock You", a song made famous by The Queens. He would like to thank everyone who didn't believe in him, "thanks everyone!". These two strapping lads are proud to be "AMERICAS FIRST ALL ORIGINALS COVER BAND!" and look forward to ruling the world once and for all.
"Singer-songwriters Debbie Andrews and Mike Blaxill front this quintet...great harmony-laced pop with a touch of 70s California. They have everything - sing-a-long hooks, strong harmonies, efficient but great guitar solos. Debbie Andrews' work on Wurlitzer and Hammond B3 just as often adds a hip and dreamy edge to the material. Her harmonies with guitarist Blaxill are picture perfect. The material is solidly written, well produced, earnest pop that is appealing on many layers. Blaxill's vocals might be at least as valuable to the mix. When he's singing lead, you are left wondering where you heard that voice before. Then you realize you haven't - it's just that you can not imagine someone with pipes like that not being better known. Ditto this band, and ditto this record. Gladshot is one of the nicest surprises I have had all year" - Pop Matters/Bill Holmes
"The kids are saying 'Make Love, Not War' / and I'm beginning to think they're right / For war costs millions of dollars a day / and love--just a few bucks a night!" - Nipsey Russell; Nipsey: 70's rock mixed with punk and blues and in your face guitar mayhem. And trips to outer space. Seriously. If you want to know about the merits of space travel, and enjoy blazing guitars and one of the most solid, slamming rhythm sections around, then come and see Nipsey. After all, it's all coming on.
Linda Draper has been described as a folk, antifolk or indie-pop artist. After one listen to her charming (and deceptively addictive) songs, and the listener can understand how Linda's music transcends categorization. Draper's releases have garnered praise from critics and fans worldwide. Drawing such comparisons to songwriting luminaries such as Aimee Mann, Suzanne Vega, Nick Drake and Joni Mitchell, Draper has still managed to carve out a sound that is all her own.
Draper recorded her debut LP "Ricochet" with producer/indie music icon Kramer (Low, Ween, Galaxie 500, Urge Overkill, Lou Reed). Their partnership would continue with her next three Long Players: "Snow White Trash Girl," 2003's "Patchwork," her debut LP with Planting Seeds Records' "One Two Three Four". In 2007 she co-produced her next LP "Keepsake" with Major Matt Mason (Moldy Peaches, Kimya Dawson, Jeffrey Lewis, etc). "Bridge And Tunnel" is the latest LP produced by Brad Albetta (Martha & Rufus Wainwright, Teddy Thompson). The album showcases 10 fresh new songs further exploring Draper's signature sound - light, enchanting music with gentle, heartfelt honest lyrics.
