Dujeous

Birthed from vinyl, drum machines, and samplers, Hip-Hop has often viewed live instrumentation as an alternative to the norm. Luckily, such boundaries mean little to Dujeous (pronounced Doo-jee-us), a group of MCs and musicians with a discography, tour history, and production resume that proves they're still just as Hip-Hop as any kid banging out beats on a lunchroom table.

As a matter of fact, Dujeous isn't so far removed from those cafeteria tables. Native New Yorkers all, the seven members have been crew since elementary school, and founded the group during their freshman year of high school. With a decade-long chemistry that no Craigslist band-seeking-bassist posting can replicate, MCs Mas D, Rheturik, and Mojo converse with Apex (bass), Taylormade (guitar), Dave Guy (trumpet), and Tomek (drums) on songs and onstage with a comfort and confidence that has become second nature. Considering their extended kinship and shared history, it's no surprise the group's intoxicating fusion of Hip-Hop, reggae, rock, and jazz so deeply reflects the myriad joys and struggles of growing up in New York City.
Riot In Paris

Riot !n Paris is the hottest new addition to the NYC music scene, breaking all the boundaries between rock star rebellion and hip-hop swag. Brooklyn MCs "Pete" & Mercy built their reputations over the years as two of the hottest performing solo acts in NY, rocking crowds from the Village to Bushwick and everywhere in between. It was only a matter of time before they became fans of one another's music and decided to collaborate in the studio. "Pete's" rock and roll attitude and Mercy's sharp hip-hop styling, created the perfect combination and soon enough, they created a new genre of rock n' roll influenced hip-hop!!

In 2007, "Pete" & Mercy set aside their blossoming solo careers and decided to book gigs solely as a double feature. Their time spent performing together helped create an onstage chemistry that proved to be unmatchable!

After hearing a copy of Mercy's critically acclaimed first solo disc, Mercy Me: The Beginning, hip-hop producer extraordinaire Devo Springsteen (Kanye West, John Legend, Nas) decided to check out one of their shows. After being blown away by the duo's onstage chemistry and originality, Devo jumped onboard to lend his signature bounce to the group's exciting genre-bending sound. It's as if Aerosmith and Run DMC had stayed together — as if Jay-Z and Linkin Park had collaborated on more than one album. A hard-hitting fusion of the best from both the rock n' roll and hip-hop worlds.

Their sound is fresh. The convergence of talents is new and exciting. Riot !n Paris are rocking, not only to change the face of hip-hop, but to change the face of music forever.
MetroSonics

Paul Josephs A.K.A: P-Nerves, was molded on the mean streets of New York where some of Harlem's greatest jazz players taught him to play guitar. As the leader and MC of the band MetroSonics, Paul brings a host of influences and an epic imagination to the raw materials of hip-hop. His lyrical flights, which reveal a fierce political and environmental awareness, and his incisive guitar-playing combine with his unique synthesis of a wide spectrum of musical traditions to make for an unparalleled musical experience. Beginning at age 16, Paul was performing with some of the bright lights of New York's blues scene. He went on to record a live album with jazz guitar great Rodney Jones' Soul Manifesto project, and to tour with such musical legends as Maceo Parker, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Idris Muhammed, and Arthur Blythe. Most recently he was a regular sideman with and music director for Epic recording artist Alice Smith. Other notable artists Josephs has performed, toured, or recorded with include funk group Groove Collective, pop star Citizen Cope, soul stylist Imani Uzuri, rock collective Earth Driver, and hip-hop group The Roots. Paul is also a dedicated educator and has worked in the New York City public school system, specifically in Brownsville and Red Hook, Brooklyn, for the past 7 years, running a self-designed hip-hop production course and teaching martial arts.
