In the winter of 2008, Monuments drove north to begin laying down tracks for their debut album. Surrounded by snow, in a studio in Woodstock, many of the songs they recorded had begun as lyrical inquiries: singer Gabriel Berezin, 10 minutes late to work, watched an airplane fly through his office window in the World Trade Centers on Sept 11, 2001.

Monuments' lineup took form over the intervening years; in came drummer Mike Cook, followed by guitarist Kevin Plessner, and bass player Grant Zubritsky. The band co-founded The Periodic Label, a collective of twenty bands, and played shows throughout Brooklyn and the surrounding environs.

Their debut album, to be released August 2009, includes tracks "Not My Own" an existential sci-fi exploration, the epic and waltzing "Silver Star," and "You," a stomping narrative, fever dream. From a devastated diary of home recordings, the future of the past is re-imagined into sonic hope.
Violent Soho

From the depths of Brisbane’s conservative right, also known as the one and only suburb of Mansfield, fully encompassed by the holy postcode, 4122, comes Violent Soho. The members of the group include Luke Boerdam (Vocals, Guitars), James Tidswell (Guitars), Luke Henery (Bass) and Michael Richards (Drums).

Violent Soho began a few years ago as a means of playing music together for four boys, then in their teens, who wanted to be able to embrace an 80’s and 90’s punk–grunge impact to their music without disregarding the ethic that ideally follows from such influence. The band has since then gone on its way to creating an energetic live show. From its beginnings, playing shows at outer-suburban pubs and rehearsing and recording demos in their parents' garages; the band has grown not by striving to achieve musical extravagance or stability, but by being a real band, by keeping its own principle and belief and sense of mateship within itself.

In late 2005, the band released locally its first EP "Pigs & TV", which received moderate success. Now, with "Pigs & TV" all but sold out, Violent Soho is proud to announce the independent release of their debut album "We Don’t Belong Here", a collection of dark, honest, guitar driven pop.

In between releases Violent Soho has also toured extensively as well as played shows with such bands as The Grates, Grinspoon, Faker, Magic Dirt, Butterfingers, The Mess Hall, The Black Keys (US), The Bronx (US), Black Francis (US), Jackson United (US), Nashville Pussy (US), Electric Eel Shock (JAP), The Vasco Era, Bliss ‘N’ Eso, Rocket Science, Cosmic Psychos, Celibate Rifles, Hard-Ons, Six Ft Hick and many countless others. This year, Violent Soho have also gone on a short but blazing tour of the UK and the US and have also featured on major festival line-ups around Australia including Homebake, Meredith, Falls Festival, Laneway Festival and many others. The band has a heavy work ethic. One which only seems to be able to work by the fact that Violent Soho is really just a unit, one band of mates.
Glint

Glint is an energetic space and psych-rock ensemble hailing predominately from the Northeast, based in NYC. Before beginning sessions on their latest record, the band, consisting of the core duo, songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jase Blankfort and drummer/percussionist Mateus Tebaldi, gained notoriety with the success of their debut album "Mode To Joy" and arduous touring of the country. Recent highlights include a featured placement on the iTunes homepage, featured story in Billboard Magazine, performing at Webster Hall, headlining the Central Park Bandshell, and being crowned the "best independent act in the northeast" by winning the 2007 Independent Music World Series, hand-picked by Billboard. In Summer of 2008, Glint can be found rocking the mic and using their unique blend of "space rock" to set minds a-spin across the nation in support of their latest studio effort, "Sound in Silence," including residencies in New York City. The record was recorded on a private mountaintop in Oregon with producer Nic Hard (The Bravery, Aberdeen City) and is available now on iTunes. After being intrigued by Glint's "explosive transcendental experience," Modern Art Contemporary Mark Kostabi prepared all album artwork for the highly anticipated "Sound in Silence."

For the critically acclaimed live shows, the band proudly joins forces with Alon Leventon on synthesizers/keys and Dave Johnsen on bass.

Glint: a little bright spot in a world of darkness.
