- When Japanther began five years ago, everyone knew they were on the verge of something new. 1000 shows later, the band enters into legendary territory, naturally combining catchy hooks, heart pounding beats and frenetic energy with DIY aesthetics. With Ian Vanek on drums and Matt Reilly on bass, both of them screaming and barking lyrics over an Akai MPC, Japanther has a unique sound polished and refined through years of touring cross-counrty.
