From the New York City rock scene emerges the ground-‐breaking group Cecilia Celeste. Their
sound is honest and experienced with influences ranging from grunge to progressive punk.
Cecilia Celeste, or CC for short, was formed in the winter of 2009. In February 2009 they
released Screwtape, a 7-‐song independent EP. The EP quickly made an impression around the
Tri-‐State area. The band began to showcase at popular venues in NYC such as the Knitting
Factory, Arlene’s Grocery, and Piano’s. In late February, after seeing the band play a packed
house at the Bitter End, producer Steve Wall (Norah Jones, Matisyahu, Michelle Ndegeocello)
decided to produce some of the standout tracks. The band and Wall worked together over the
next couple months on a 5 song EP named October Leaves and a video for the single “So Much.”
The EP features some friends of the band such as Randy Schrager (Scissor Sisters, Jessie Malin)
and Jessie Wagner (Kid Rock, Chic). October Leaves continues to gain major attention while the
band is touring and recording their debut LP at Water Music in Hoboken, NJ.

In March of 2010, Cecilia Celeste were invited to play the SXSW festival in Austin, TX and made a
mini-‐tour out of the trip, playing in Dallas, Arlington, and SXSW. The band was well received
with the South embracing their bluesy dirty Rock & Roll.

In April 2010, CC was picked out of thousands of other bands in the New York Tri-‐State Area to
compete in the Hard Rock Cafe Ambassadors of Rock Battle of the Bands. They went on to win
in a landslide victory at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, New York City and have gone on to
the national competition.
