Pepper Rabbit - (Set time: 10:30 PM)
Pepper Rabbit
Pepper Rabbit formed in the spring of 2008 when songwriter Xander Singh was recording what was to be a solo album in New Orleans, and asked friend Luc Laurent to play drums on the recordings. But when the recording began, it was soon realized that Luc was providing much more than the role of a drummer, so they decided to form Pepper Rabbit. After a warm up show at a dive bar in New Orleans, they played their first show at the Pop Montreal Festival Oct ‘08, with which they received a wonderful response. "Accomplished Renaissance men, the duo sings while playing guitar, piano, trumpet, organ, ukulele, and clarinet in ways that make you want to give them hot cocoa after the show." – Pop Montreal ‘08 With nearly a year of hiatus, the two have recently reconvened in Los Angeles to pursue the project full time. The live show is incredibly intricate, incorporating live looping (clarinets, trumpets, vocals, etc) and sampling. "The group's full sound can be attributed to the gadgets and gizmos under the feet of Singh, who looped parts, and added effects to push the swirling sound to the forefront of the audience's attention." – Under The Rotunda While still maintaining the organic feel of the recordings, Pepper Rabbit's show provides a much different experience than just listening to the record. The plan for now is to spend the rest of this year playing locally on the west coast and next year touring as much as they can!
We Barbarians - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
We Barbarians
Vacillating between dark and light with rhythm-heavy foundations, We Barbarians sucker most into thinking the collaboration is anything but a three piece. David Quon (singer/guitarist), Derek VanHeule (bass/vocals) and Nathan Warkentin (drums/vocals) formed in Long Beach, CA in 2007 from the throes of previous bands. Since their inception and the release of their debut EP, 2008’s In The Doldrums, the band has toured with Local Natives, Tokyo Police Club, Maps and Atlases, Ra Ra Riot, Cold War Kids, The Morning Benders and Les Savy Fav.
ANR - (Set time: 8:30 PM)
ANR is a music-making duo based out of Miami, Florida. The group consists of Brian Robertson (Keyboards, Vocals) and Michael-John Hancock (Vocals, Drums). In 2010, the duo hunkered down and recorded the Stay Kids album. Influenced heavily by the events of the year, particularly those near to their coastal dwellings, the post-apocalyptic pop record is by far the bands strongest effort to date. The sonic influence of childhood heroes Brian Wilson, Prince, and Keith Emerson as well as the music of the psychedelic warriors of today are very evident therein and continue to inspire the band.

Onstage, the pair add a rawer dimension to their songs, pummeling through sets with a louder, more virtuosic style than one might expect from simply listening to the records, revealing their love of American punk rock and the British and German progressive acts of the 1970‘s. ANR have shared the stage over the years with such acts as Neon Indian, No Age, Fucked Up, and Animal Collective. They will be on tour throughout 2011 in the U.S. and Europe. The group is also actively involved in the South Florida music and arts community, organizing shows and aiding the efforts of local peers with production, engineering and scoring film and video art.
