Duke Special, a.k.a. Peter Wilson, is a Belfast artist with an unique sound, often referred to as ‘vaudeville’. His songs are shaped by an omnipresent piano, harps, brass, strings and - his trademark on stage - an old gramophone. The result are very romantic and passionate little hymns with the Duke’s soft vocals. A quite antique sound, but never old-fashioned.
Music was all he ever wanted to do. He learned piano as a child and sang traditional Irish songs in churches and community centres with his sisters. Soon he began writing his own songs and played in some local rock bands with little success.
Under his pseudonym ‘Duke Special’ he recorded two limited EPs (Lucky Me, My Villain Heart) and sold them at hundreds of concerts across Ireland, the UK and Germany. He supported Aqualung, Rufus Wainwright, Paddy Casey, Gemma Hayes, cDavid Ford, The Divine Comedy Snow Patrol and many others over the last years. More than 6,000 copies of the EPs were sold, and Duke re-released the two EPs as an album (Adventures in Gramophone). In 2005 the “Your Vandal”-EP was released.

The Clatty Lads - (Set time: 10:30 PM)

The Clatty Lads are an American Folk Rock band that formed in New York, NY in 2008. Formed by Josh Patch (vocals, guitar, harmonica) and Adrian Sharkey (guitar, vocals), the band includes Christian Mintiens (drums, percussion), Justin Brewer (bass guitar, backing vocals), David Yesner (electric guitar), and Matt Knapp (Pedal Steel). Also has included Mary Knapp (backing vocals) and Mark Bernardi (vocals) amongst its membership.
Achieving an impressive mix of sounds and atmospheres ranging from breezy summer evening vibes to wistful, introspective hip-hop and moving, thoughtful country; The Clatty Lads' easy-going groove and effortlessly soulful vocals permeate the infectious, laid-back feel while an uncanny sense of emotion combines with a modern folk-rock sensibility to create a truly eloquent and enjoyable listening experience. Josh Patch is the group's primary songwriter - whilst taking on songs written by Adrian Sharkey and further built upon by the group.
The Clatty Lads released their first demo album, The Clatty Lads Demo (2011), made up of songs written, recorded, and mixed by Josh Patch and Adrian Sharkey under the production name J.O.Beats along with some current band tracks to gain recognition and build a budget to pay for future full band recordings. The group built its audience primarily by playing many shows throughout New York and New Jersey areas and major internet promotion through Facebook, Myspace, Youtube, Twitter, and more. The band also thanks exclusively many of their fans, coworkers, friends, and family for their help in promoting and supporting the band in gaining a larger audience through word of mouth, photography, film, live and studio recordings. In July of 2011 the band released the single "A Shade Further Grey" mixed and recorded by Ariel Borujow at Stadium Red Studios NYC in conjunction with a video shot and edited by Chris Cimino of CiminoTech Productions to gain recognition and find financial support amongst their fans to complete a future full-band album release.
Currently The Clatty Lads are based out of New York City, continue to rehearse and perform around the North East at any venue that offers a stage. Writing and performing as a whole, the group is seeking representation to further their goals in today's music industry by taking advantage of any support or opportunities offered to them.
