Ocean Music (solo) - (Set time: 7:20 PM)
Ocean Music (solo)
Ocean Music is a four-piece group from both American coasts, presenting expansive arrangements of already-wide songs. Ocean Music began in the summer of 2013 as a songwriting project for New York-based multi-disciplinary artist and healer Richard Aufrichtig. Though initially a solo project, Ocean Music has since evolved into a raucous and rousing live band. Drawing on inspiration from sources as varied as the Chilean author Roberto Bolaño, thirteenth century Troubadour and Minnesinger lyrics, Gregorian chants, the Major and Minor arcana of the Tarot, Zen Koans, Child Ballads, and modern day celebrities of the new-song movement, Ocean Music has been described (by people who get paid to write about music) as "an explosive update on Replacements-Pixies-Van Morrison, with interlocking guitars, pummeling rhythms, and songs that were sometimes concise and sometimes took their sweet time," "full of cathedreal beauty," and "better than 95% of what I get sent."
Crumb - (Set time: 6:30 PM)
"Crumb is psychedelic soul band that was born in Boston but currently resides in Brooklyn. Their self-titled EP, released in September 2016, combines soulful and dreamy melodies with a psychedelic pulse to create a truly unique listening experience that evokes the “bittersweet ease of late summer.” (Sound of Boston) The lead singer and guitarist, a native of Brooklyn, claims inspiration from the slimy Gowanus Canal, crowded NYC subways, and other parts of the city soundscape. They are planning another big release before 2017."
