TOMÁS Doncker & The True Groove All Stars
Tomás Doncker cut his teeth as a guitarist with genre-busting groups such as James Chance & The Contortions; Defunkt; J. Walter Negro & The Loose Jointz; and many more, making him a prime mover on New York’s downtown“No Wave” scene in the early 1980s. Eventually he went international, touring and recording with Japanese jazz icons Sadao Watanabe and Masabumi Kikuchi, and producing studio and songwriting sessions with Bootsy Collins, Yoko Ono, and Grammy-nominated Reggae vocal group The Itals, among others.

Since then, Doncker has continued to work with A-list artists including Madonna, Ivan Neville (on his solo album, Thanks); Bonnie Raitt; Meshell Ndegeocello; Corey Glover of Living Colour; former Parliament Funkadelic keyboardist Amp Fiddler; Grammy winning producer/bassist Bill Laswell; Chocolate Genius; 2016 Grammy award nominee Shamekia Copeland and Artist John Ransom Phillips. His ongoing collaborations with Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Yusef Komunyakaa have received massive critical acclaim. Beyond that, he has produced hundreds of records. He is the Founder and CEO of NYC's fastest rising record label, True Groove Records.

This is currently the busiest period of Tomás's career. He is expanding his True Groove label brand to include multiple Broadway-bound musical theater productions and feature film scores. With back to back tours in China and Europe under his belt, he has moved on to play high profile local festival dates at Camden Jam, The Dodge Poetry Festival (Held at NJPAC), SXSO, New York City SummerStage and Milwaukee SummerFest along with a featured guest spot with the legendary Ivan Neville's DUMPSTAPHUNK at Brooklyn Bowl. This doesn't even touch on his six sold out shows at the Blue Note Tokyo with 'No Wave' icon James Chance and The Contortions. Recently, he has darted all over the East Coast in support of his 2014 release Big Apple Blues (Co-written with New York's Poet Laureate Yusef Komunyakaa). Now, fresh off of the release of The Mess We Made Tomás is preparing to take on legendary venues, the festival circuit and much, much more.

"The album is a delightfully soulful record. Carter's raucous voice fits perfectly with the gloomy atmosphere of this Alien Days-Esque journey".
