Lowland Hum - (Set time: 7:30 PM)
Lowland Hum
Lowland Hum is an art-folk band based in Charlottesville, Virginia made up of husband-wife team Daniel and Lauren Goans. In a particularly cacophonous cultural moment, Lowland Hum is a breath of fresh air. The band’s songs have been described as poetic and evocative, and their arrangements minimal, hushed and dynamic. They have toured extensively since the band’s inception in 2012 to support their two full length albums and one EP. Both their live show and studio releases have garnered critical acclaim from the likes of NPR, the Washington Post, American Songwriter and others. With a loyal fanbase that is steadily growing, Lowland Hum is a band to take note of, particularly as they are set to release their freshest collection of songs early next year. The band’s third full length album, Thin, will be released on February 10, 2017, followed by a nationwide tour.

C.F. Watkins
“C.F. Watkins is Generous and warm. She has a gentle grace and a patient, encouraging gaze. On stage, her presence and serenity take over with hypnotic allure, her quiet composure giving way to soulful vocals and poetic, lingering lyrics.

Driving all her talents and expressions is an undeniable authenticity. In a noisy world of approval-seeking mimicry and parades for popularity, C.F. Watkins offers refuge, peacefully gliding along, reminding us to slow down and connect to the moment.” - The Jalepeño

C.F. Watkins was born in North Carolina and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. At age 6 she received her first boom box. It was yellow and battery powered. She toted it around her backyard, traipsing from one hiding spot to the next.

In middle school she found her aunts old guitar in the basement and started humming along to untuned, unknown chords.

In 2007 she released her first album, Seasons, and last year she released her second titled, I Am New. Working closely with her dear friend and producer Daniel Goans of Lowland Hum, the album was recorded in one week at White Star Studios in Virginia.
