The Silos - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
The Silos
Enduring organic guitar-rock outfit from New York City. "The band's austere style inflects the astringent twang of The Velvet Underground with the drone of R.E.M. and adds countryish echoes that recall Gram Parsons," says the [New York Times]. New album, [When The Telephone Rings], will be released this summer on Dualtone Records.
HEAP - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
A two guitars, bass and drums quartet who've been doing their brand of rock and roll in NYC since 1995.
Iggy saw them play once...and liked it, according to soundman Noel Ford. They liked this, so they wrote a flattering Noel.
The eponymous song is featured on their new ep, "Defriended."
The Village Voice once quipped that "their melodies stick in your head like bubble-gum on an NYC summer-soaked street."
In their 17th year, they still bring it.
