Paracutá - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
After the success of the soundtrack for the independent film, Rocanrol '68, New York City-based Alternative Rock band, Paracutá has released their self-titled debut album.

“Our past projects, especially music for film, were always done under external creative direction. On this record, we showcase who we really are, exploring our influences in a deeper way in combination with all we learned from working for others.” – guitarist Ernesto Lucar.

“Writing for film taught us to give musical context to a good story. ‘Mary Bell’, for instance, is about a murder that occurred in England in the 1960’s, told from the killer’s perspective. We reinforce that perspective with the music–which is somewhat dark and somewhat insane. We want the listener to have an experience.” – lead vocalist Caroline Feldmeier.

The band was selected for Premios Platino del Cine Latinoamericano for Best Original Music for their work on Rocanrol '68. They were also invited to perform at the inaugural Latino and Native American Film Festival at Southern Connecticut State University.

Paracutá recorded and produced the album in their studio in Astoria, Queens. The album was mixed by Kieran Kelly (Sufjan Stevens, John Stirratt).

Following the November release of their debut album, Paracutá is playing a series of shows in support of their new record.

Bad Mechanic
al has been heading over to jake, henry and nathaniel's apartment every week or so for the past few months to play some songs he's written about the dark side of mr. rogers, being left at the altar and the mars one project. the neighbors don't complain about the noise, so they're either all vacuuming in sync, or they're into the fast and slow, loud and soft, all-inclusive easy-listening and dont-touch-it-cause-you-gonn-get-burnt electra-fazz-junk that tumbles out into the hallway. they're called bad mechanic because everybody's had one and been one - in some way - at least once." one.
