The Mast - (Set time: 11:30 PM)
The Mast
"Brooklyn-based duo The Mast’s high-energy electro-pop seemed to instantly magnetize people to the stage…the venue was completely packed with blissed-out dance enthusiasts thoroughly hypnotized by the primal beats and astral sound effects." - CMJ

"The Mast play futuristic-electro pop inspired by early IDM and experimental beat music - James Blake on mescaline" - Village Voice

"[The Mast] casts a beguiling spell." - Ptichfork

The Mast is vocalist and instrumentalist Haleh Gafori and percussionist and beatsmith Matt Kilmer. Merging live electronics, vocals, and percussion, The Mast creates a full-spectrum sonic experience that features “Haleh’s phenomenally powerful, nuanced, and hypnotic voice and Matt’s gorgeous deft beats (both sequenced and live)” (Wompblog). Influenced by early IDM, post dubstep, and experimental beat music as well as acts like Mount Kimbie and Bonobo, The Mast delivers a warm and inviting sound that booms through the subwoofers, propels the body to dance, and soaks the mind in a bath of endorphins.

In their shows, where they have performed alongside Foster the People, Reggie Watts, Blonde Redhead, and Teebs, Matt and Haleh incorporate live electronics, drumming, and vocal improvisation, preserving the spontaneity they cultivated as instrumentalists. "So unique and crisp is their sound, culled from a range of electronic genres, that their fans swarm to be an extended part of the show, transforming it from a performance into a dance fest" (XO Magazine).

The Mast released their full length album "Pleasure Island" in January, 2014. They've released a series of highly acclaimed videos for the album which they directed, edited, and sometimes filmed themselves for tracks "Luxor," "So Right," and "UpUpUp."
Archie Pelago - (Set time: 10:30 PM)
Archie Pelago
Archie Pelago is a production and live performance trio based in Brooklyn, NY. Formed in late 2010, the trio of Hirshi (trumpet/DJ), Cosmo D (cello/Ableton) and Kroba (sax/Ableton) combine their varied backgrounds in jazz and classical music with a common love for rhythm and the wide-open possibilities of electronic music. In the studio, the three produce collectively and prominently feature their instruments, lending deeply emotive patterns and textures to their tracks. On the stage, the group innovatively combines DJ-style performance with live playing and processing of their instruments, conjuring singular renditions of their original works as well as music that inspires them.

On September 24th, 2013, Archie Pelago released their latest EP, Hall of Human Origins on the Brooklyn-based Styles Upon Styles label. This follows their first two releases on their own label, Archie Pelago Music, the Sly Gazabo EP and the Breezy Whey / Backflight 12", which received critical acclaim in Spin, Resident Advisor, DJMag, Tsugi and XLR8R, collectively. Their single Avocado Roller was featured on Pitchfork and was included on NPR's Heavy Rotation series. Current radio support includes NPR, KCRW, KEXP, WFMU, WBAR, WNYU, Solid Steel, Mary Anne Hobbs, and Gilles Peterson. Current sponsorships include Ableton and Focusrite Novation.

Archie Pelago can currently be heard on Resident Advisor's podcast #RA.370 and recently performed at the 10th anniversary of Decibel Festival in Seattle, WA. Look out for several new releases in 2014, including the Lakeside Obelisk EP and a full length collaborative record with Grenier.
