Natural Stranger - (Set time: 11:30 PM)
Natural Stranger
Natural Stranger formed in May 2013. Like their namesake, Natural Stranger is a mix of familiarity and innovation. It's not too experimental and it's not too pop. The band finds inspiration from slick pop tunes to the heaviest of metal.

Their debut EP 'Summer So Far' captures the essence of summer love, heartache, and the excitement that comes from new beginnings. One review describes their song 'In Love Again' as "the soundtrack to the end of a Quentin Tarantino film."

Their following EP 'Talk About Our Demons As If They Were Friends' finds the band in a darker, more brooding state, with dynamic song arrangements and blistering musicianship. One reviewer says the song 'Romance' is "every bit an anthem in it's own right."

Known for their energetic live shows, the band leave every ounce of adrenaline on the stage floor when they finish a set. Definitely not background music at an uppity wine and dine spot. Think cranked guitar amplifiers sending shockwaves through the air of a massive stadium while the audience bobs up and down on the beer soaked ground.

Download some records. Come rock out at a show. Shed a tear or crack a smile. Everything's gravy when you're hanging with the strange.
Cold Blood Club - (Set time: 10:30 PM)
Cold Blood Club
Cold Blood Club, a magnetic new outfit out of Brooklyn, has been chewing up the New York indie scene one packed venue at a time since they debuted their blend of soul, rock and pop in the spring of 2011.

Inspired by acts like LCD Soundsystem, Metric and New Order, songwriter/guitarist Tom Stuart (Radio America) started a small, 4-person studio project with newcomer Kendra Jones and Bradley Peterson (Earlymay) as lead vocals and former band mate Jesse Reno (Radio America) on bass. After only a handful of promising shows, CBC quickly evolved into the well-matched 7-piece showstopper they are today—joined by agile drummer Shin Kamei (Angela Jane), flame-haired violinist Hilary Davis (Bella Koshka) and classically trained pianist Adina Benno on synth.

In the follow-up to their 2012 EP Release, Headlines and Firefights, Cold Blood Club has just returned with a new single and music video for the song “Goodbye to All That.” The song is an open love letter to New York City, friendship, heartbreak and making peace with the past. The band’s creator and songwriter Tom Stuart penned the evocative tune as he struggled with balancing the aimlessness of finding a place to live, a thriving nightlife, and a tumultuous personal life. “We danced all night, we danced all year…” Stuart sings against a vibrant backdrop of slick city streets, moody dive bars and rowdy karaoke clubs, wrapping us up in a feeling of timelessness that lingers in our hair and clothes like cigarette smoke for days. It’s the party that lasts all night, and a glimpse into the friendship, reinforced by a shared love of the city, that holds the band together.

"’Goodbye to All That’ is thick with claps, breaks, builds and jangly guitar goodness needed to start a party. It has a Shout Out Louds feel to it with transitions into Brit-pop happy pants jams." -
Vinyette - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
Vinyette is a New York City rock band that was established originally in 2008. Nathan Frye is the lead vocalist with Danny Monico on guitar, Marc Ligenza on bass guitar and Jonathan Crowley on drums and synth. Vinyette has a high energy sound, with a reverential core. Sonic versatility for the active mind and body, in a vast catalog ranging from uninhibited rock to endearing ballads. The deep rhythms of the songs dance and fuse with bright guitar licks and silver tongued, honey lunged vocals that give the imagination a ride. Rocking your dancing voices. The debut album "Every Little Mouse Run" is out now!

Friends and comrades both on and off stage, the kinship between Vinyette is illuminated in their new album, live performance as well as their videography. Their first LP, "Every Little Mouse Run" is an eclectic mix of rock, funk and punk vibes, with crafty rhythmic changes as Vinyette creates an orchestrated maelstrom. A pandemonium that is both daring and infectious. Their live performance integrates schematic back-projection, with visuals feeding off each song, which are produced and edited by Vinyette. Recently, Vinyette released 3 singles with music videos from their new album including "Meatball Love Tone", "Twenty Dollar Doctor" and "Tattoo Crazy"; as well as tongue in cheek promotional videos including a special guest appearance by Vinyette mega fan Candy Crowley of CNN.

Vinyette recorded "Every Little Mouse Run," in true rock tradition, in analogue at One East Recording (credits include: The Beastie Boys, David Lee Roth, Sheryl Crow) in New York City. Yohei Goto (credits include: Keith Richards, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Jason Bonham) is the recording engineer. The album was produced by John Reed, Founder of Ronin Guitars. The CD also features a guest appearance on organ and keys from the legendary Jimi Zhivago (credits include: Norah Jones, Rufus Wainwright) and was mastered by Scott Hull (credits include: Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Beastie Boys, Rage Against The Machine) at Masterdisk.
Marco With Love - (Set time: 8:30 PM)
Marco With Love
Born as a solo project in mid 2013, ‘Marco With Love’ has quickly matured into a band whose lineup consists of New York City’s top musical talent, embodying the diversity, DIY work ethic, and true essence of rock’n roll. The band’s vibrant sound gives a nod to influences such as Revolver-era Beatles, Tom Petty, The Kinks, and the Traveling Wilburys while their live show embodies the energy and raw attitude of The Ramones, The New York Dolls, and The Strokes. “Marco Argiro’s amazing charisma blasts from the stage, capturing anyone in its path.” (BBC Guernsey). Their album ‘Love’ “gives plenty of nods to the melancholy-tinged, folk influenced rock of the late 60′s and 70′s, while managing to distance itself enough to still feel relevant to the modern music scene.” (Velvet Rope Magazine)

Lead singer/guitarist Marco Argiro has made a name for himself by fronting trans-atlantic acts such as Le Mood and The Killing Floor. “Marco is a unique and phenomenal star on stage and even more mystical when his band Love rocks out with him.” (Sonic Eclectic). He caught the ear of Marky Ramone in 2010 and filled in for Michael Graves (The Misfits) during Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg European tour. For Argiro, a lifelong Ramones fan, it was a dream come true, and the experience inspired him to write a song that became the closing track on the album. The backbone of the band was complete when Marco pulled in bandmate Peter Landi (The Killing Floor and The Glazzies) for drum duties, as well as longtime friend and collaborator Subodh Samudre (Golden Bones, Peru, Planar), and Blaine O’Brien (Brothers NYC).

In the timespan of just eight months, the band has gained fans and captivated audiences across NYC’s music scene, Los Angeles, Boston, Toronto, and London. The single Leave It Behind (Brooklynville) was dubbed “Brooklyn’s own confessional heartland rock anthem” by The Deli NYC while the single Love “is truly remarkable in its sound, offering something we really aren’t getting much of anymore.” (Limerence Magazine).

“I still find it shocking that these guys have been playing… for less than a year as they have such appeal, evoking that great feeling of hearing something new and refreshing…and their performance varies from Elvis on the Ed Sullivan Show to punk-esque raging with kicks off the drum kit… Marco with Love is destined for great things to come.” (Nerese Ricther- Mediazoic Toronto). These guys not only sing about their “live and die for rock and roll” attitude but truly embody it.
The Clydes - (Set time: 7:30 PM)
The Clydes
The Clydes reside in Harlem, New York, where the unsigned band was hatched. Members Nick Tesoriero (NY) and Colin Desmarais (CT) both bring their own unique resumes and perspectives to the table, producing a rock-funk vibe with nostalgia for live sound. Continuously working, The Clydes both perform and record throughout NYC and the Tri-State area. Uptown, underground, come around, put it down.
Lady - (Set time: 6:30 PM)
Lady is a punked-up post-shoegaze four piece hailing from the middle of Long Island, and their debut EP "Washer" churns and moans with the kind of howling landlocked loneliness that could only have originated outside of the big city. While the rough, squalling brutality of these 6 live-tracked cuts betrays Lady's beginnings as a knockabout Misfits cover band, there is a core of lonesome, interstellar country soul at the center of singer Steven Joyce's lovely melodies. "Creatures of the Night" is a wistfully romantic jam that takes its time to reveal itself fully, "Wait (If You Leave)" is a gorgeously sad punk stomper, and that only begins to summarize the riches found on this EP. The record was begun and mostly tracked way back in the old Mama Coco's facility; when that studio was decimated by floods, Lady bided its time patiently for 9 months before finally entering the brand new Bushwick studio this winter to complete vocals and mixing. We at MCFK are righteously proud of this loud and proud slab of EP, and we know you'll dig it too.

Mama Coco's Funky Kitchen is a DIY recording studio, record label, musician's collective and brain hive located in Brooklyn, NY. If you'd like to be taken off this list, just ask!
